While Diigo already offers SSL / secure login on the web pages, still there is a need to be able to stay on SSL for the full session. For example when accessing and logging into a Diigo account on a public wi-fi hotspot, then after the secure login, all the groups and the bookmarks marked "private" are sent openly across the network, revealing information that one might not want to expose to whoever is in the same wi-fi zone. So full SSL session is an important security enhancement to get in place.
