I suggest you ...

Add a rating when bookmarking and sort the library by rating

Diigo is good to bookmark, but then you end up with tons of bookmarks, just sorted by date. It would be nice to have the possibility to add a rating when bookmarking and then to be able to sort the library by rating.
Of course when browsing the library you should also have the possibility to select a date range to make sure you select recent things for example.
And for shared bookmarks, others should also be able to rate these and you should then be able to sort the bookmarks by rating.

for this, one can go two ways. one is the typical music-style "something out of five stars". the other is do it digg-style and "upvote an item to be above another".

both would require a third implementation of the form "sort by" and have their shortcomings. the first would establish "absolute rank" but of all "five stars", which is the "top five star"?

the second addresses this but then to rank (+1) to a single item would be to automatically rank it above all others automatically. and then to make another rank above that one would be two clicks, next, three, etc.

that said, i'm all for the second method rather than 5 blank stars ripe for accidental clicking everytime the bookmarklet is clicked.
herved rises a good point with the ascending/descending sorting of view. seriously, why isn't this a default feature already?

as a sort of compromise between the two, a "number of upvotes" would have to visible somewhere in the item's view. and then also perhaps something like "34th" rank for number it ranks. (with 1st being highest and so on of course).

maybe by default, they rank in order of creation/update (like they do now) and each consecutive up/down is one rank up and down respectively..?

Hmm, I thought this would be possible by just sorting by 'most liked' but it seems not.

Mark bookmark in order of importance with a color, so you enter a list and distinguish the ones you liked better and that complements the date sorting and the search by tags. I need this
