Ideas

Welcome to Diigo Ideas Forum

Do you have an idea? Do you recognize a good idea when you see one? We want to hear from you!

For bug-reporting or general how-to questions, please check the right side of this page and choose “Bugs” or “How-to” forum.

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Money contribution to help to improve special features

This could be like this that by contributing a certain amount of money I will have permission to vote more than 3 votes to a special idea that I’m interested to be improved faster and earlier.
More interested (needed), more money contribution, more votes.

  2. in Outliner, add quotes around annotations when converted to bullet points

Annotations should be enclosed in quotes when converted to bullet points in Outliner. They are always, after all, quotations. Even cooler would be, if I manipulate the text, that the quotations disappear--since it's no longer a verbatim quotation. But just the first, simple, change is a great step to ensure quotations are attributed properly.

FYI, unlike a lot of users, I'm liking Outliner.

  4. Lists and Outliers

On the save screen an article screen, put a drop-down menu of my lists (not just my outliers) so I can easily save my article to a list. Right now, you just have a drop-down menu for outliers (not lists). Put a menu for both.
Alternatively, show the date for each article on the list for an outlier. And make it possible to delete an article from the list page or move it to another outlier.

  5. annotation of pre-existing files

Before finding your tool I completed quite a lot of research which is stored on my local disk. As far as I can tell there is no way to annotate pre-existing research files. I have also tried loading them in Google browser using Local Explorer (a Google extension that loads local files into the browser). Would you consider making annotation available on pre-existing, locally stored files?

  7. Zapier integration

I would love for stuff I add to Diigo to be automatically added to a todo list, my calendar; sent to somebody else, or whatever.
Don't develop all these integrations yourself.
All you need to do is integrate with Zapier and let Zapier handle the numerous other applications people use!
Integrate with Zapier and you can close all integration request because people can just set up a "zap" with zapier. And that is really easy to do!

  8. I'd like to save images in groups and in outliners (like in lists)

As lists are going to disappear from Diigo, could you add the option of saving images for groups and outliners ? I'd also like to have ann RSS link for my outliners. Thanks for the future improvements!

  14. Make outline functions more easy to use

Make the existing functions of the new outliner more intuitive. I cannot easily figure out, for example, how to group my items into topics within one outline.

  15. Please convert my outliners back to lists

All the wonderful features of this list (sections, seeing your annotations) are gone! Those are the things that made Diigo unique. Now it is like Pinterest without the pictures. Or Feedly without the reader. What is the point? Please, please go back to lists!

  16. outliners is the line to push us out

You have done this without asking our input, you haven't let us test this, you have deleted all help info about lists, you are asking us to delete lists and that you will delete the list function

outliners are great for people who have a few lists and see about 10 to 15 sites a day (80% of the people that is)

lists are the best option around - your unique selling point - for people like me who see about 100 links a day (securityresearcher and newsjunkie) and just want to be sure that we don't go to the…

  17. Stop taking away important features for money!

So I have just noticed that the "lists" features is going away, or being replaced by the so called "Outliners". I'm going to say very bluntly that this horrible little move has completely screwed me and many other older uses of the service. You have just proven yourself unreliable.

I have, for years now, built an entire library of links, organized by lists. This is the main way in which I have used Diigo. Now in the new system, I have not needed the other features, therefore I never became a premium member. Now, I either have to become a…

  18. Add feature: Spaced repetition of bookmarked content with tag filter

I try to memorize, through active recall, the description and annotations of my bookmarks by making flashcards in Ankidroid. Is it possible to make a spaced repetition feature of bookmarked content with tag filter for Diigo android app.

  19. Fix Related Tags Sidebar (to Show All Related Tags)

You could either list all the related tags in the sidebar, or you could list the first few like you do now and then put a "more" link below the last entry.

Without listing all related tags in the related tags sidebar, it means that users must constantly go to the tag cloud list to try to find the tag they are looking for. (and that is not efficient because there are many unrelated tags (to the current tag you are looking at) in the tag cloud). So please fix the related tags sidebar. thanks.

  20. Make a Firefox add-on similar to Chrome's Diigo Web Collector extension

Chrome is great, but I prefer to use Firefox and would like to see some improvements similar to Web Collector.
