Ideas

Welcome to Diigo Ideas Forum

Do you have an idea? Do you recognize a good idea when you see one? We want to hear from you!

For bug-reporting or general how-to questions, please check the right side of this page and choose “Bugs” or “How-to” forum.

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. disable creating new tag

When bookmarking a page, you can create as many new tags as you want, which leads to have too many tags.

It could be nice to be able to switch an option in the toolbar which would force you to use pre-existing tags when you bookmark a new page or revise an allready bookmarked one.

Unchecking the option would let the user create new tags if wanted.

Like that, it could help the user to avoid to create too many differents tags and mind a bit on which tags to use.

  3. minimize highlights

you should be able to minimize all of your highlights into a little bar under the name of your bookmark so they dont take up the whole page

  4. Put a close button or link on the sidebar so I can close it. It used to be obvious. Now it isn't.

I have used Diigo for a couple of years. In recent times I no longer see an obvious way to close the sidebar. Is there a new way? I don't see it.

  5. Don't expose private items trough lists and RSS

Right now, private items on a public list are turned public. That's not the behaviour I would expect and only recently discovered this. A public list should be public, but a private item on it, shouldn't be shown in either the list or the feed.

    planned  ·  Sandy_diigoSandy_diigo responded

Thanks for providing invaluable feedback. This forum has been abused with spam.We are quite headache about it. Uservoice’s anti-spam policies are
not very efficient. We decide to take more action.
As Geoffrey Milos mentioned, most SPAMMERs in this Ideas forum are not particularly creative. common features include:
    - recent joiners
    - no bookmarks
    - no highlights
    - no activity outside of ideas.
    - single vote per “idea”
Given those features,it should be only trusty users who have published normal
bookmarks and annotations are entitled to publish new idea in this forum.

  7. Show sticky notes on Diigo iOS app

When I highlight text with iOS Diigo browser, highlighting displays in iOS Diigo APP, BUT notes do NOT.

  8. Export To Evernote Full Article W/ Annotations From Readict

I really like what Diigo has done the last few years and when I checked out the Ipad Readict app I was really impressed.

I would like to be able to export the entire article (ala Read It Later, Instapaper) to Evernote. I would like this at least. Right now it only send the link.

What would be killer is if it sent the full article, with annotations to Evernote. I would be in tech heaven.

    Thank you for your consideration.

  10. Google+ share support

A Google+ share option would be greatly appreciated. A simple share button in the standart manner would be enougth. Something like Surplus would be supreme.

Good job guys! You have an amazing app.

  11. Add a bibliography feature.

It is agitating to take so many notes in Diigo only to not be able to compile any of it without excessive work.

  12. Premium users feature: upload cached version of the paper automatically

Whenever you make a highlight, a cached version of the page is uploaded, see features of webnotes.

  13. show more than 20 bookmarks when searching our lists on sidebar

    the title says it all
its really annoying to have to come to my diigo page just to see 10 or 2 bookmarks that wasn't in the first 20 when i needn't to enter them quickly
i mean thats the mane reason i am using diigo, to quickly access a certain number and category of sites

  15. the share function should share to a group as well

When I want to share an existing bookmark with a group, I have to use the "edit" function and sent it to a Group. There is a "share" link, it should do what is says.

  16. Support "Quick Blog" in Diigo Toolbar for Firefox

The Bookmarks created with the Firefox Diigo Toolbar "Bookmarks" button do not allow to specify the option "quick blog". I always have to go to the webseite to use it. Maybe it would be best to convert the quick blog function to a group (you can add a bookmark to multiple groups, and groups have a blog like homepage if configured).

  17. Fix HTML escaping bugs in Bookmark exporting

Please do not generate a broken HTML.

    - When a bookmark title contains "<blah>", it is stripped off somehow.

    - Characters like ", <, >, & are not properly escaped AT ALL!

    - Tags containing spaces need to be handled properly, e.g. applying s/ /_/g
    I see something like <A HREF="..." ... SHORTCUTURL=""two words"" ...>.

  18. Print Read-it-later pages

On readitlater.com there is the ability to print pages to PDF with Joliprint. I am missing this feature in Diigo. Would be cool if it would be added to Diigo.

  20. Acknowledge timezones

Notifications (email) have the wrong time. There's no timezone listed next to it, but it's hours away from my time making it look like the post was 7 hours ago (whereas the email notification settings are set to immediate)
