Ideas

Welcome to Diigo Ideas Forum

Do you have an idea? Do you recognize a good idea when you see one? We want to hear from you!

For bug-reporting or general how-to questions, please check the right side of this page and choose “Bugs” or “How-to” forum.

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can vote and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can vote on it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Bug: visiting the same page as a logedin user or a guest makes the page display things verry diffrently

if i send i friend to links like:
    https://www.diigo.com/user/thepaven/NOT%20hacking%20NOT%20hacker%20?sort=created
al the nots are ignored and he gets the oposits of what i want to send him.

I am tying to use diigo in a clever way. that would make my web page more intresting. but also drive traffic back to diigo(they might like wat they see and sign up, lots of friends do just by me talking about your service) though my back link to diigo does not work for non logedin users. i tried in private tab of firefox.

I also use links like where the OR is ignored…

  2. User Friendly Bookmark Tagging

Eliminate using the quotation for multiple words. It should be tagging with ease by just using comma.

Aside from that tagging should correspond to the meta keywords added or inserted to a specific URL.

On the other hand, if there are multiple URL's with the same tag the URLs must be categories name after the tag being used.

  3. I

I am using your bookmarking site as my last one (ZooTool) says it is going to shut down :-(. What I would really like is to be able to assign pictures to my links as I could with ZooTool. A lot of the links I save are for things I would like to buy when I eventually have the money. I research things. I am very visual and scrolling down lists is less efficient for me than scanning over pictures. Pictures help me remember what I have bookmarked. It might be an item I wanted to buy or a site…

  4. Add data to organize news

I am organizing news from media and need to have it with date. I have seen no place to edit the date. If it not save the date I save it in diigo, but the date the news was created, will be better.

  5. Screenshoot

If i add a screenshoot and choose "Attach it to the page URL" it will overwrite any current bookmark of that page.

That means that i can't add screenshots to my current bookmarks because i'll lose my description and tags.

what im hoping for something like an "Add Screenshoot" button or simply a "Upload image" button in the Edit/Save Screen.

    i'd Prefer both though.

Screen shot “Attach it to the page URL” is treated as a annotation of the bookmark. It will not overwrite any current bookmark.

  10. Allow to use Markdown syntax in notes and sticky notes

It's been reported already for Quick Note for Mac, but I think this should be option available generally in any interface and especially the Diigo website.

Markdown allows to use plain text to achieve structured content and this fits the purpose of notes. IMO this could be provided as an option just like there is now an option to use a reach editor, so one could use what one likes best. There is even a quasi editor for Markdown syntax, which inserts appropriate text snippets on click of a button, but it's not indispensable IMO. What would be useful, however,…

  11. Order bookmarks by name or URL and detect similar bookmarks

Add on the combo box of date orderoptions two new ones: sort by name or URL (seems easy to implement).

Similarly, on the "more actions" menu, you could add a new kind of action to catch "similar bookmarks", meaning: different name+same url OR same name+different urls.

  17. reduce subscription cost to something more competitive. (lower price)

Upon seeing that you had premium features at a not all too competitive price, I was kind of turned off and immediately searched for an alternative. Though, I'll give it to you; I found no competitors that offer my favorite features of Diigo.

Your closest competitor is Evernote, mostly because they allow annotations to cached webpages. However, they're too clunky and I like the simplicity of Diigo's caching more. I'm done with Evernote, most of their functionality can be achieved for free elsewhere, as can much of Diigo's -- differentiate yourself by giving people something new without having to pay…

  19. link or bookmarklet to jump to random bookmark. please!

link or bookmarklet to jump to random bookmark. please!

as both webapp link or bookmarklet extra action.
as there is no partword search, this would be second best. i dunno what else to make 'finding things again' easier...

maybe to make as per list/tag? =)))
    please consider!
