Ideas

Welcome to Diigo Ideas Forum

Do you have an idea? Do you recognize a good idea when you see one? We want to hear from you!

For bug-reporting or general how-to questions, please check the right side of this page and choose “Bugs” or “How-to” forum.

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. PDF annotation night mode

With PDF annotation, I only read book in diigo in order to centralize my notes.
With Night mode, diigo will be the de facto place to READ.

  3. Responsive web, pageup/down removing page focus, autocompleted tags and mobile outliner? Thanks!

Outliner isn't responsive to window changes. Resizing is a pain because manual adjustment of page-zoom level always needs to be done given text/screen/layout doesn't automatically wrap text.

More than that, [pageup/down] automagically removes focus from current spot (jumps to bottom/end of webpage) requiring manual re-navigation back to wherever on the page we were previously. A big pain on outlines/views with many, many items.

@diigoOutliner has made my workflow of reviewing, posting, etc much more productive and organised. A place for items out of @workflowy. Out of @diigo main items-- So no more "read later" or items clogging up what really…

  4. Floating sticky notes

The personal floating sticky notes are not in the preview, which means, that I have to open the cached view of the item. I would like to see them in the preview.

  7. Add a reading layer for the Android app

Please, it's a pain to annotate in the Android app. Add a reader layer for the Android app, something like the Annotator Safari App.

  8. Lists and Outliers

On the save screen an article screen, put a drop-down menu of my lists (not just my outliers) so I can easily save my article to a list. Right now, you just have a drop-down menu for outliers (not lists). Put a menu for both.
Alternatively, show the date for each article on the list for an outlier. And make it possible to delete an article from the list page or move it to another outlier.

  9. Search not working on mac (FF)

When I type in some text in diigo searching box it suggests tags and searches. After I press enter it tries to open "http://diigo.searcho.com/search/g?cx=!partner-pub-7625644023173335%3Agqffh9-8lvc&cof=FORID%3A11&ie=UTF-8&q=Coding%20&sa=Search"; and fails (there is a typo "searcho").
I guess it doesn't work as intended. How do I use it properly?

  13. Mental Maps

When you have a huge flow of information, the possibility to have a different graphical arrangement could be crucial.
Adding some tools to create mental maps (Wise Mapping can be an example) starting from bookmarks could drastically improve your services!

  15. Use tags already created by article/blog authors

Here's a fabulous idea that I haven't found suggested already: Many sites already tag their pages, particularly blog posts and articles. Can those tags be sucked up by Diigo, either as suggestions or for auto-tagging the page? (I'm often too lazy/hurried to tag, so I'd prefer just auto-tagging with those tags)

  16. release the iPhone app on the UK iTunes store

Please release the iPhone app on the UK store, I love Diigo but need to access content when I can't get a 3G or wifi signal. The offline reader would allow me to do this but is only available in the US!

  17. Money contribution to help to improve special features

This could be like this that by contributing a certain amount of money I will have permission to vote more than 3 votes to a special idea that I’m interested to be improved faster and earlier.
More interested (needed), more money contribution, more votes.

  19. Fix Related Tags Sidebar (to Show All Related Tags)

You could either list all the related tags in the sidebar, or you could list the first few like you do now and then put a "more" link below the last entry.

Without listing all related tags in the related tags sidebar, it means that users must constantly go to the tag cloud list to try to find the tag they are looking for. (and that is not efficient because there are many unrelated tags (to the current tag you are looking at) in the tag cloud). So please fix the related tags sidebar. thanks.

  20. annotation of pre-existing files

Before finding your tool I completed quite a lot of research which is stored on my local disk. As far as I can tell there is no way to annotate pre-existing research files. I have also tried loading them in Google browser using Local Explorer (a Google extension that loads local files into the browser). Would you consider making annotation available on pre-existing, locally stored files?
