Ideas

Welcome to Diigo Ideas Forum

Do you have an idea? Do you recognize a good idea when you see one? We want to hear from you!

For bug-reporting or general how-to questions, please check the right side of this page and choose “Bugs” or “How-to” forum.

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can vote and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can vote on it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  2. Make comments private to a group when bookmark is shared with a group.

Group bookmark usefulness is enhanced by comments, but comments should not be public in that case. Groups need to refer to confidential work projects without worrying about exposing them publicly.

  3. Too frequent sign-in requests for diigolet

I'm using Firefox and Safari Diigolets on Leopard. The Firefox one seems to ask for sign-ons more and way too often. I want to stay signed in. This is not a bank, so my sign-in should not expire every few hours or whenever my browser restarts, as it seems to do now.

  5. integration with Feedly

We use Feedly to bookmark media and news stories. Although the small icon shows to bookmark, the next screen does not separate the URL and Title correctly.

  7. A better to way to merge many tags into one

When library is growing, we have a lot of tags with few article, it could be better to merge them into one new tag in order to limit the number of used tags

  8. Add keyboard shortcut for Quick note

I am a heavy use of Instapaper and RTM, I was just thinking of adding Quick note to my "must have" app list, but there is one thing that has me hesitate.

I do heavy coding and documentation while reading blog posts and jot notes very frequently, everything I mentioned above require a heavy dependency on keyboard navigation and layout interaction. It really annoys that I must hit the "+" button with my mouse every single time I create a note!

    How do you guys think?

  9. Addon localiztions

should make different language localizations for addons

chrome already has an elegant and easy way to do it so

i would make a hungarian translation, and im sure others would make this job for their native languages

this would make more diigo users, and easier understandable interface for all

  10. open links without Diigo frame

When I open a link from Diigo, for example after a search, I don't want the Diigo frame on it. I would like to set a preference to not have that on each page.

Further, when I try to close it (the way one would with the analogous Stumbleupon frame) clicking the X prompts for "bury" this. I don't know what that is, but it's unexpected behavior from a close X control. So also that needs a redesign, IMO, because the interaction design has appropriated the close-X which is just wrong.

  11. Add Word Count to Quick Note

It's an easy feature to add, and handy for doing first drafts of essays and such. Fits right in.

  12. Search feature

The search feature would be more useful, when parts of phrases also were found (given "dug" currently doesn't find "dugs" for example)
Alternatively booelan search could be enabled (entering dug* leading to dug, dugs, dugg etc.)

We define read later fast as an app for simply and fast to save bookmarks for reading later. If you want to do further editing and organizing, please associate it with your diigo account. Diigo V6 will support hierarchy system.

  16. Add an one click solution to add new links to folders like the Instapaper droplet

    Hi,

I know it sounds silly, but at the moment I have to do four clicks to add an link to a list and that is the main reason I still use Instapaper even though diigo is so much more suited for the task. Atm I have a Instapaper droplet for each folder and I just have to click one button to add an bookmark to the right list.

Maybe this is already implemented in diigo/diigolet/diigotoolbar, but I could not find it.

Cheers and thanks for all the good work so far!

  17. Add speed dial

In "my library" see your list in a visual view (speed dial) where you can see in a more visual way all your bookmarks. It's an easy way to find what you're lookinf for.

  18. email with + should be allowed (it's very handy )

Gmail and other providers allow for + in emails, its a handy way to differenciate traffic ...but validation doesnt allow it.

  20. Twitter Import should Save Link

The Twitter Favorites import is a great tool. I would love to see a link included in the text of the note though back to the Favorite on Twitter. There is a lot of contextual information about those favorites to be found on Twitter, and that gets lost without a link back to the favorite.
